We are delighted to be welcoming back the open water swimmers again for our 3rd season. Ballyhass is the perfect place to dip your toes into the open water side of swimming. For those who havent been before its a super safe environment with crystal clear waters that can get up to 20 Degrees during the summer. During the season there are two different times during the week for swimming. Friday nights from 7pm to 9pm and this year the slightly later time of 8am to 10am on Sunday mornings.

  • You must not have any medical condition (such as Heart disease, Asthma, Epilepsy, Diabetes) which may impact my ability to safely partake in open water swimming. If unsure I will seek the advice of a GP

  • You must sign in at the Ballyhass reception before each swim and ensure you understand the session timings and which area of the lake to use. You will be given a wrist band on payment and this must be worn during your swim. Only participants with wristbands should be in the water.

  • All participants must sign an online waiver form and fill out a registration form.

  • All swimmers must be registered with either swim Ireland, Tri Ireland or another national governing swimming body.

  • You must wear a brightly coloured swim hat at all times and will wear a wetsuit if the water temperature is below 14oC
