Guidelines for Parents & Teachers

The following guidlines promote a common sense approach to the safe management of group visits.

Group members are not allowed use any equipment that requires supervision during the break period.  The group leader should be available for general supervision during lunch and other break times. All particiapnts are under the close supervision of our instructors while part taking in an activity.  Teacher supervision is not required at those times.  We do not have any minimum teacher:pupil requirement other than a teacher being present on site in the event of a student requiring their attention.

Ballyhass Lakes does not accept responsibility for items lost. It is recommended that valuables such as - jewellery, watches, electronic devices, mobile phones, money or cards etc – are not brought on the outing.

Group leaders are not required to partake in sessions but the option is available to those who wish to.

It is advisable that any group members who require the use of an inhaler should keep it about their person. Each group member should have his or her name clearly marked on any inhalers.

Please be advised that Ballyhass lakes staff are not permitted to administer any medication.

Disruptive group members will be removed from sessions and must then remain under teacher/ leader supervision until then end of the day.  Not following the guidance and instruction given by staff will be considered as a breach of the terms and conditions and may result in the suspension of the activity for the group or individual.  In this instance no refund will be given.

Participants will need to bring with them Swimming Togs, Towel, Shower gear, A full change of clothes, an old pair of shoes/ runners to be worn in the water. A packed lunch, Rain gear/ sun protection as appropriate.  There are separate male and female changing rooms. We have a modest shop at Ballyhass where sandwiches, soft drinks bars and gifts can be purchased.

All programmes may be altered at any time to take account of weather conditions.

At Ballyhass lakes we take every precaution for the safety of your group members. However all outdoor activities have an inherent risk. Persons participating in activities or courses do so at their own risk .  No claims shall be made or entertained against Ballyhass lakes in respect of injury or loss arising therefrom
