Gladiator - Upright courseGladiator - Upright course
You have seen on the TV,  traversing from one form of obsticle to another. Our version is up right.  You have to climb from poles to a cargo net, up a ladder and over a tyre wall. And as as you climb your opponent is beside you trying to get to the top faster than you.  The course is suspended from our 12m high ploes and sways in the wind as you climb . You are fully harnessed all the time, with your helmet as protection and in the safe hands of our instructors.  Still not too easy.

Jacobs Ladder.Jacobs Ladder.
This is a great team building event.  It looks easy- all it is a series of parallel beams suspened from a high ropes  with each beam progressivley farther apart . the task is to get your team members as high as possible.  It is not possible to get up there by your self you will need the assistance and planning of your group.  It is not as easy as it looks remember the beams are all the time swinging loose from the top and it gets very very high!

Leap Of FaithLeap Of Faith

New May 2010 is our daring new activity. Using the high poles you must first climb the stepped pole and stand up on a platform some 18inches square.  Then if you are up to it make the leap of faith to grab the trapese and swing. The Trapese can be moved closer or farther away from the platform to make the degree of difficulty appropriate to age and height of the jumper.  Of course all the time  you are fully harnessed and under the control of the instructor who eventually lowers you down to the ground.  It is still some awsome experience.   Try it!

Fitness Assessment ModuleFitness Assessment Module

In response to requests from visiting schools and sporting teams we have now introduced a fitness assessment module.  Participants will will be assessed by body composition ( age, height, weight, body mass), and set a series of tests to assess their aerobic capacity,   Muscular strength, endurance and flexibility. Each is a carefully controlled test and by use of the Fitnessgram computer program a personalised report is generated for each participant that calculates their results and fitness levels relative to their own age group norms.  A full report on each member of the groups is issued to the PE teacher or coach.  This module is an ideal component of a team building day  when the squad could partake in Kayaking,  ropes courses and other activities.   Ballyhass can also conduct follow up assessements at future intervals or carry out assessments on a stand alone basis.
